“How can we make it easier for users to find the content they enjoy?”

Background

With over 192M Daily Active Users*, Twitter is one of the planet’s largest spaces  to spark  engaging conversations.

One area which was of interest was to explore additional ways of achieving this objective, with an initial focus being placed on the Bookmarks feature. While such features do exist on other social platforms, it was more important to understand for what and how users utilise Twitter, and how this could be enhanced.

Research & Findings

The line of questioning for the research revolved around 4 topics: – Background (principally usage), their use of Bookmarks, their Engagement (to address Twitter’s business need, and user-centred ways to improve the service

This also ensured that the demands of various stake-holders – investors, users, partners – were met.

Persona & Insights

The user research brought forward a lot:

1. From current affairs, to what other users have to say, content from fellow users form a unique selling point of the platform.

2.While users interact with content at very varied frequencies, it is always because they find that content compelling enough to warrant it.

3. Users would like better tools to save and manage content that they find compelling.

Final Thoughts

& Take-aways

Listening to users attentively over the course of this project can be credited for the end-product. Moreover, a focus on expanding on their user experience, as opposed to changing it, enabled this deliverable to be successful.
